Online Safety Resources

We all want to protect our children from the harms of this world.  Often, we think of those as being harms that could be presented at school or in the neighborhood.  Often, people overlook the potential harm that can come to a child over the Internet.  Even though the it is considered a 'Virtual World,'  the internet poses some very real dangers to our children if they are not carefully supervised.

Friends, anyone could be at the other end of the wire that's connected to your home computer.  We have all seen the television shows where the investigative reporter, a model, a team of computer technicians and (of course) the local police team up to sting predators.  These people literally prowl the chat rooms and look for victims to meet.  I was astounded to see car after car pull up to the meeting location, some people coming from 100+ miles away to meet what they thought was a 13 year-old who might be interested an intimate encounter.

Below, please find several links to information on how to protect your child on the Internet.  I urge you to read the information and apply it to your children's use of the computer.
